Department: Student Engagement Supervisor: Assistant Director for Student Engagement & Campus Recreation
Hours per week: 20 hours a week
Stipend/Benefits: Tuition Waived up to 24 credits & a $1,000 stipend for the academic year
Role Summary The Graduate Assistant (GA) works collaboratively with the Assistant Director of Student Engagement and Campus Recreation to support campus recreation and student programs and engagement events and activities. The GA will also serve as a mentor and peer-professional advisor for student leaders.
This role is designed to provide the GA professional experience in a higher education setting while supporting the operational goals of the department. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, collaborator, flexible and high energy individual who can balance their academic workload as well as their student engagement responsibilities. They must be proficient with social media, organized, creative and have the ability to work nights and weekends.
Qualifications Primary Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with the Assistant Director of Student Engagement and Campus Recreation to support campus recreation and student programs and engagement events and activities.
Serve as an advisor to the Campus Activities Board (CAB) to plan programs and events for the student body.
Attend events in the evenings and on weekends.
Create social media marketing post and stories in support of student engagement activities
Assist with the training and advising of student clubs and organizations
Plan campus recreation tournaments and events throughout the year.
Support the Student Government Association executive board in their efforts to represent the student population.
Eligibility & Requirements
Enrollment: Must be currently accepted in a Master program at Albertus Magnus College in one of the following areas:
Accounting (only two spots available)
Business Administration
Criminal Justice
Management and Organizational Leadership
Healthcare Administration (only two spots available)
Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in [Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and various social media platforms].
Interpersonal skills; experience creating connections and impactful relationships among students and staff.
Organizational skills, time management and ability to adhere to deadlines.
