Truist Partners with TMCF to Advance Leadership and Career Readiness (3625 hits)

Truist is honored to serve as a corporate sponsor the Thurgood Marshall College Fund’s (TMCF) signature leadership experience, DevCon – Potomac, held February 18 – 22. This premier event brings together exceptional HBCU students from across the county for an immersive week focused on leadership development, professional growth, and career readiness.

DevCon, short for Development Conference, aligns closely with Truist’s mission to inspire and build better lives and communities. Supporting students at this critical stage of their academic and professional journey is a key part of Truist’s commitment to education, inclusivity, and workforce development.

As part of its sponsorship, Truist is proud to lead two interactive workshops designed to equip scholars with practical skills they can apply immediately and throughout their careers:

Business & Entrepreneurial Mindset

This session focuses on cultivating strategic thinking, innovation, and adaptability. Students will explore how an entrepreneurial mindset can drive success. Whether navigating corporate environments or leading change within their communities.

Time Management for Personal and Professional Success

Designed for high-performing students balancing multiple priorities, this workshop provides tools and strategies for effective time management, goal-setting, and sustained productivity in fast-paced academic and professional settings.

In addition to leading workshops, Truist will actively participate in the DevCon Exploration Career Fair, engaging directly with scholars to share information about early career opportunities, discuss career interest, and provide insight into the skills and experience that drive success within financial services and beyond. The career fair offers a valuable platform to build meaningful relationships and help students envision their future at Truist.

Truist’s participation in DevCon – Potomac reflects its ongoing investment in developing inclusive, future-ready talent. By sharing expertise, creating access, and building authentic connections, Truist remains committed to empowering HBCU students to lead with confidence, purpose, and impact.
