We are seeking detail-oriented and experienced Tax Preparers for our St Louis, MO/ St Clair County, IL clients for seasonal support. In this role, you will work directly with clients to prepare and file federal and state tax returns accurately and on time. As a Seasonal Tax Preparer, you'll play a critical role in providing top-quality service and ensuring clients maximize their deductions and meet compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare individual and/or small business tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current tax laws.
Review financial records, income statements, and other documents to determine tax liability.
Conduct interviews with clients to gather essential tax-related information and answer questions about tax procedures.
Advise clients on tax-saving strategies and provide guidance on deductions and credits available to them.
Maintain confidentiality of client records and information.
Stay current on federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and guidelines.
Use tax preparation software to input data and file returns electronically.
Collaborate with team members and management to ensure quality service and meet filing deadlines.
Qualifications:
MS Excel Assessment may be required
Previous experience as a Tax Preparer or similar role preferred.
Familiarity with tax preparation software (e.g., TurboTax, ProSeries, or other industry-specific software).
Strong understanding of tax laws, regulations, and deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to clients.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Tax Preparer Certification (e.g., PTIN) preferred but not required.
Work Schedule:
This is a seasonal position with flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate the tax season demand.
