Our Client, one of Portland's top Employers, is looking for a Mechanical Assembler to join our team. In this role, you will use a range of tools and equipment to assemble sub-components based on technical drawings and specifications. Your tasks will include gathering necessary parts and tools, following technical drawings to fabricate or assemble components, and positioning assemblies for integration into larger systems. This position involves working under direct supervision and following additional written and verbal instructions.
Position Details:
As a Mechanical Assembler - Level 1, your responsibilities will include:
Collaborating with team members to fabricate and assemble mechanical components of a system.
Using software programs to access and print technical drawings.
Reading and interpreting measurements from drawings.
Applying mechanical drawings to accurately fabricate and assemble components.
Performing both sub-assemblies and final assemblies of tool systems.
Maintaining a safe and clean workspace in accordance with 5S standards.
Using equipment and supplies efficiently to conserve resources.
Consistently following all safety and quality standards.
Documenting observations and actions related to safety and quality when required.
Demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to take on additional tasks as needed to meet project goals and company objectives.
Qualifications:
Experience in reading and interpreting mechanical assembly drawings, or the ability to quickly acquire this skill.
Previous experience assembling or fabricating components using materials such as PFA and PVDF.
A background in adhering to strict safety and quality protocols within a production setting.
Adaptability to handle changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
Ability to collaborate effectively with other team members.
High School Diploma or equivalent; experience in the above areas is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Capacity for detailed work that involves continuous fine motor skills, repetitive motion, and steady use of arms and hands.
Proficiency in hearing, reading, and speaking English.
Ability to see and interpret technical drawings in English.
Capability to lift a minimum of 15 lbs., generally up to 30 lbs., without frequent repetition.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a warehouse environment.
May include shift work, including days, evenings, or weekends, depending on scheduling needs.
