Manager, Document Management (Health Information Management)
About This Position
The University of Miami Health System, "UHealth", Department of Health Information Management (HIM) has an exciting opportunity for a full time Manager, Scanning. The Manager of Document Management is responsible for all preparation, scanning, indexing, storage, and destruction of paper documentation included in the official health record throughout the UHealth system. This includes acute care and specialty facilities as well as ambulatory locations on and off campus. The Manager is responsible for a hybrid team of on-site and remote personnel and ensures adequate staffing, scheduling, onboarding, training, quality, productivity, and wellbeing of all team members. The Manager of Document Management maintains service level standards and relationships with all customers who rely on the documentation in the electronic health record. The Manager onboards new ambulatory locations and establishing appropriate document management processes for each location. The Manager develops and upda tes policies and procedures for each function within Document Management as well as all systems utilized by the team.
Promotes the rights of patient privacy and confidentiality throughout the health system.
Ability to identify, analyze, and evaluate best practices in difficult situations.
Communication and interpersonal skills for contact with internal and external customers to obtain and interpret a variety of information.
Knowledge of departmental practices, hospital policies, and programs and specific technical and regulatory.
Conflict resolution, discretion, diplomacy, tact and listening skills.
Leadership skills such as accountability, decision-making, coaching and counseling.
Knowledge of information systems and health care applications.
Must be able to operate in a high-volume, multidisciplinary environment and be attentive to detail.
Maintains a climate which attracts, retains, and motivates a diverse staff of high performing individuals.
Proactively resolves problems within limits of authority.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in a closely related field of study; masters degree preferred
Three years of relevant management experience
Knowledge of business and management principles.
Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.
Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
